Thota Vijay Karan Reddy
Vijay Karan Reddy Thota started career as Design Engineer in Larsen & Toubro in 1984, later on joined the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Service(APES) - Irrigation & CAD Dept., and served in various capacities from Asst. Executive Engineer to Chief Engineer, Managing Director, Telangana State irrigation Development Corporation, Managing Director, National Institute of Urban Management, Hyderabad.
He graduated in Mathematics and Physical Sciences from Nizam College, Hyderabad and Civil Engineering from Osamania University College of Engineering, Hyderabad. Chief Information Officer (CIO) training from IIMA.
In 2004 he was selected for the APCIO (Andhra Pradesh Chief Information Officer) training programme conducted by IIMA and after completing the training he was deputed to IT&C Dept of Andhra Pradesh for implementing the eProcurement Project, later on he was deputed to Centre for Good Governance for a period of about 10 years. As Director (eGov) in CGG he played key roles in many eGov Projects, Recruitment Processing System for A.P.Public Service Commission, National Scholarships Portal of GOI, IT systems for Property Tax, Trade Licenses etc., for GHMC, eOffice systems for State Information Commissions (AP, Haryana and Nagaland), MIS systems for Irrigation Projects. Comprehensive Project Management System for A.P.Police Housing Corporation, end to end ICT Platform for allotment of employees to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as per the A.P Reorganisation Act etc. During the AADHAAR enrolment period (2011-12) he was deputed to Civil Supplies Dept as Chief Information Officer for AADHAAR seeding in Ration Card data and Pilot Implementation of AADHAAR enabled Point of Sale Systems in Fair Price Shops.
